Workshop Dates Course Description

MMI Monthly Theory Training

 

All new MMI registrants must attend a theory session.

The next MMI Theory training will be from 10.30am to 12.30pm on Monday, 5th March, Room G35, in Bldg 19 Innovation Walk, Clayton Campus

Please note it is a pre-requisite of MMI registration to attend this training.

MMI users who do not attend one of these sessions will have their MMI access removed.

Includes lectures by Hari Shroff, NIH (diSPIM), David Potter, MMI (OpenSPIM), Philip Nicovich, UNSW (soSPIM) and others. 

WORKSHOP 
Fri, 5 Feb. 2-5pm:  Lightsheet imaging, applications and optimisation 
Sat, 6 Feb. 9:30 – 5pm: Lightsheet instrument construction and analysis  
Instruments available during the workshop include an OpenSPIM (from MMI) and a diSPIM (from ASI).

Costs:  Lectures (free, but pls register below, for catering)
             Workshop: $200 ($150 for current members of the Australia Microscopy and Microanalysis Society)

Live Cell Imaging 2012 (LCI2013)

1 - 6 Dec 2013

The 6 day course will cover all aspects of live cell imaging from the basics of keeping cells alive to experiments performed on the microscope. LCI2013 will be held over three days of half day lectures and set practicals (Mon – Wed) and two full days of practicals.

Limited to 24 participants. Cost: $1500 +GST includes all lecture materinals, tea/coffee & lunch each day and some evening meals on Monday - Thursday.

Introduction to Fluorescent and Confocal Microscope (FC2013)

The MMI Introduction to Fluorescent and Confocal Microscopy Workshop will be held on Monday 29 April to Wednesday 1 May 2013.

This workshop will include fluorescent and confocal microscopy lectures each day followed by hands-on practical work in the afternoons in the MMI laboratories using a range of fluorescent and confocal microscopes. This 3 day course provides an introduction to the fundamental principles of microscopy that are commonly used in the research environment. Students are introduced to a variety of imaging and analysis techniques with an emphasis on confocal and fluorescent microscopy and related imaging analysis.

Cost: $750 +GST includes all lecture materials, tea/coffee and lunch each day.
